Altona Homestead Museum

Logan Reserve, Altona Vic Australia

Alfred Langhorne commenced building the first homestead run on the foreshore of Port Phillip in the early 1840s, calling the property Laverton Homestead.

In latter years the name was often confused with the newly developing nearby suburb of Laverton, so it was changed to Altona Homestead.

Now it is a heritage building proudly owned by Hobsons Bay City Council, regularly opened to the public operating as the Altona Homestead Museum.
